First Stop: St. Clair Performance Horses Production Sale

If you ever wonder what “content day” looks like in my world, let me paint the picture: eight sale horses, couple handy cowboys and cowgirls, a pint-sized assistant named Ada, and me—camera in hand, chasing the action like it’s the NFR short round. Logan and Chance hopped on and rode through the full lineup for the upcoming St. Clair Performance Horse Production Sale, and let me tell you—WOW. This year’s string is sharp. From SF Guns Four Hire to SF Stunning Steps, every one of these horses had their moment in front of the lens.

And then there’s Ada. She might’ve started the day riding her trusty horse, Tator, but before long she was trading reins for “assistant duties.” Whether it was helping me wrangle gear, pointing out the best angles, or just keeping spirits high, she proved she’s more than just the arena’s little cowgirl—she’s got future media boss written all over her.

Funny enough, my connection to St. Clair goes back to Logan Allen. Last year, I was out grabbing content on a Riata Showcase Horse Sale prospect named SF CATCH N FO CASH—turns out, he was one of St. Clair’s. One thing led to another, Mike from St. Clair gave me a call, along with his daughters Lacey and Cody. Now here we are—knee-deep in sale content with a lineup of seriously talented horses.

At Logan’s, it’s never just “shoot the videos and go home.” Nope. We’re usually mixing in a little roping, a little cattle doctoring, maybe a horse race or two (courtesy of the kids), and this time—a bird nest discovery mid-session. Because why not? That’s the magic of these shoots: real life happening in between the polished sale shots.

This set of horses speaks for itself, but capturing the grit, grace, and everyday chaos behind the scenes? That’s where the story really lives—and I’m just lucky enough to be part of.
