SHOW ME YOUR PISTOL
Some days behind the camera are all grit and horsepower. Others are golden light and giggles. And every once in a while, you get both.
My morning kicked off at Sprouse Ranch under the searing Bloomfield sun, where I had the absolute pleasure of filming and photographing the gray stallion Show Me Your Pistol. Owned by Ryan Andersen and trained by Zac, this young stud is more than just a pretty face—he’s the kind of horse that stops you mid-scroll and makes you say, “Wait... who is THAT?”
And trust me, you’re going to want to remember the name.

After pouring my heart into that shoot—designing graphics, filming animations, and capturing the presence of this powerhouse—it would’ve been easy to call it a day.
But my lens wasn’t done yet.
Then Came the Andersens
Straight from the saddle to the soul, I packed up and made my way down the road to the Andersen family’s place. Different vibe, same heart.
What started as a stud session turned into something even sweeter—a golden-hour family session that reminded me why I do what I do. The Andersens welcomed me with open arms, barefoot kids, and a Golden Retriever that might just steal the whole gallery when it’s ready.
From sibling belly laughs to quiet glances between mom and dad, there was something magical about the way they simply were. No stiff poses. No overthinking. Just connection and love, plain and powerful.
We wandered through the sunlit fields and leaned into the joy of the everyday—those raw, real moments that don’t need much direction. It was the kind of shoot that fills your creative cup. The kind that feels less like work and more like witnessing something sacred.
One Day, Two Stories
From the power and polish of a stallion built for greatness to the warmth and wonder of a family rooted in love, this day in Bloomfield was one for the books.
Thank you to Ryan for trusting me with your up-and-coming stud. And to the Andersen family—thank you for letting me in, for showing up with open hearts, and for reminding me that at the end of the day, the best stories are the ones that live in both horsepower and home.
Until next time
